These tests are now called the National Tests – ’NT’.
All children are required by the Education Authority to take these tests at the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2 ) and Key Stage 2 (Year 6).
YR2 are tested in the subjects of English and Mathematics.
YR6 are tested in the subjects of English, Mathematics and Science.
When the results are received they are given to the parents – not the children.
These results are then compared with our teachers’ assessments and determine which ’set’ the children are placed in upon entering their new High School..
In our ‘small’ school we usually have below the minimum number of pupils in YR6 for these results to be nationally published. This year – in December 2016 – we have 4 year 6 children in total.
