These are pictures of the new village hall that has been built. A land swap was carried out between the school playing field and the old village hall land to enable new facilities to be built. This involved many years of negotiations and planning between the school governors, village hall committee, the local authority, the local community, parish council, breckland council, local farmers, garvestone trustees and villagers. This new hall had to be ’fit for purpose’ and serve the needs – present and future – of all stakeholders.
The Big Lottery and other funding was received through the sheer hard work and expertise of members of the village hall committee and other volunteers. It is a registered charity. The result is amazing – a lovely new village hall, a fantastic play area and a huge piece of open space for everyone to enjoy! Well done to everyone involved.
