Navigators is a mixed-age class of years 5 and 6. Mrs Dyke and Mrs Rootham are the class teachers and we are supported by our teaching assistant, Miss Bazzoni. Everyone in the Navigators class works hard, we support and help each other to learn new things and always try our best.
As the oldest children in the school, we take on the responsibility of being positive role models to our younger peers. In Year 6 we prepare ourselves for taking SATs and our transition to High School. A typical school day consists of English and Maths in the morning and a combination of subjects such as Topic, PE, RE, French, PSHE in the afternoons.
We love visitors and look forward to meeting you!
Parents and carers of children in Navigators Class are invited to workshops on a variety of themes and are held once or twice per term.
Some of the workshops will cover areas and methods in which adults can support their child’s learning such as reading Cafes, others will focus on the topics the children are studying in school.
These workshops give parents and carers an idea of teaching and learning at Garvestone Primary school.
